Ogalla Inaugurates Admiralty/Shafa Gas Plant, Mall, Bakery In Navy Town

The Chief of Naval Staff, Vice-Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla has officially inaugurated the Admiralty/Shafa Gas Plant, situated in Navy Town, Ojo. This is even as he presided over the unveiling of the Admiralty Mall/Bakery within the same vicinity.

Addressing the gathering of officers and distinguished guests prior to the commencement of the commissioning ceremony on Friday, Commodore Pepple, the Managing Director of Admiralty Exchange Limited, underscored the significance of these projects. He emphasized that their primary aim is to bridge the gap between the demand and supply of gas products in Navy Town and its surroundings.

Pepple explained that the Gas Plant is not only intended to enhance the welfare of Naval personnel but also to make liquid gas readily available and affordable to the residents of Navy Town and its adjacent areas.

In his address, he stated, “It is a great pleasure and honor to stand before you today as the Managing Director of Admiralty Limited during the commissioning ceremony of the Admiralty/Shafa Gas Plant. The surging demand for LPG Plants in Nigeria has made it a viable venture, which prompted Admiralty Exchange Limited to partner with AYM Shafa Holdings. This partnership aims to address the pressing need for gas products in Navy Town and its vicinity.”

“Aligned with the Chief of Naval Staff’s directives, the Admiralty/Shafa Gas Plant is expected to improve the well-being of all personnel by ensuring the availability and affordability of liquid gas for the residents of Navy Town and its surrounding areas,” he added.

Alhaji Musa Yahaya, representing AYM Shafa Holdings Limited, expressed gratitude for the visionary leadership displayed by the immediate past Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Awwal Gambo, and his team during the foundation laying ceremony for the Gas Plant in January. He highlighted the pivotal role played by Vice-Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla in ensuring the seamless continuation of the project, which stemmed from a mutually beneficial partnership initiated during the groundbreaking event.

Yahaya noted, “AYM Shafa Holdings is living up to expectations by ensuring the timely completion of this project. We hope to see many more initiatives like this at Naval locations across the country.”

Representing Vice-Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla, Rear Admiral Hamza Umar Kaoje, the Group Managing Director of Naval Holding Limited, explained that the Admiralty/Shafa Gas Plant is a collaborative effort between Admiralty Exchange Limited, a subsidiary of Naval Holdings Limited, and AYM Shafa Holdings Limited. He praised AYM Shafa Holdings for its sterling track record in downstream oil and gas businesses.

He added, “The choice of Navy Town as the project’s location is strategic, given the significant number of personnel and residents within our barracks. It is designed to provide clean and affordable gas to the residents of the barracks and its vicinity.”

Rear Admiral Hamza Umar Kaoje also highlighted that this project would generate employment opportunities and expand the commercial activities of Admiralty Exchange Limited. He encouraged AYM Shafa Holdings to consider hiring Naval retirees and their children at the newly commissioned plant.

Hon. Ramotalai Akinlola-Hassan, the Executive Chairman of Ori Ade LCDA, expressed her delight at the introduction of this project to the local community. She noted that purchasing cooking gas for domestic use had been a challenge, and she commended the Nigerian Navy and AYM Shafa Holdings Limited for this significant milestone.
