In an initiative aimed at enhancing community well-being, Vice Admiral EI Ogalla, Chief of Naval Staff, spearheaded the third installment of the Naval Health Outreach program, benefitting more than 300 residents of Tongeji village.
The outreach program, a flagship project under the Naval management, delivered crucial medical services to villagers suffering from various ailments, including eye problems, diabetes, asthma, hypertension, and other eligible health conditions.
Led by Surgeon Captain Uchenna Ifeoma Okeke, the dedicated medical team distributed a range of essential items to the beneficiaries.
These items included mosquito nets, eye glasses, consumables, and various medications, providing tangible relief to those in need.
The initiative underscores the commitment of the present administration to fulfilling its social responsibility in the realm of community health service delivery.
Presenting the items on behalf of the Chief of Naval Staff at Tongeji Island, Pokia local government, Ogun state, Surgeon Captain Okeke emphasized the program’s overarching goal: to eradicate complications arising from the lack of adequate medical attention in host communities.
In his welcome address, Kabiyesi Oba BI Olorun Kose Okiki Sule 1, the Akoko of Tongoji, expressed profound gratitude to the Naval management.
He acknowledged the consistent inclusion of the community in various Naval programs since the establishment of the Naval base in the region.
The Oba applauded the Naval Health Outreach as the third of its kind, congratulating the beneficiaries while expressing optimism for more opportunities in the years to come.
He concluded by wishing that God would continue to reward the Chief of Naval Staff for the enduring support extended to the community.
